The first commercial flight of the United Arab Emirates has reached the Israeli capital Tel Aviv.
Waving the flags of Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways' Boeing Green Liner 787 passenger plane flew from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport on Monday.
The flight crossed the Saudi airspace and reached Israel.
At the airport, Israeli officials gave the guests a warm welcome. This is the first commercial flight to Israel from any Gulf country.
The Israeli Ministry of Transport has announced that there will be 28 weekly flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and a formal agreement between the two countries will be signed on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, 10 cargo flights will be operated to cities in southern Israel.
The UAE and Israel announced a peace agreement and diplomatic relations on September 15.
