According to private TV, the Ministry of IT will issue a notification in the next few days regarding the approval of PTA's recommendations. According to the new rules, defense of Pakistan, immorality, obscenity, religion, blasphemy, content against government orders will be considered a punishable offense, and misinformation about public order will also be a crime.
Content that creates a negative image of another person or copies another person will be banned. Live streaming of extremism, terrorism, violence will be banned, and material that affects children will also be banned. Social media companies will be obliged to remove content that is against the country's dignity, security and defense.
According to the new rules, all companies with more than 500,000 customers will be required to register with the PTA. Social media companies, including YouTube, Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitter and Google Plus, will be required to comply with the new rules and set up offices in Pakistan within nine months.
