Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that the police should not follow Imran Khan's illegal orders to arrest PML-N and PDM workers. According to details, in a message released on the social networking website Twitter, former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the police should stop, harass or arrest the PML-N and PDM workers without Imran Niazi. He wrote that the police should not take steps to stop their workers from reaching Gujranwala. Addressing the Punjab Police, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif asked them to refuse to obey the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It is to be noted that before the Gujranwala meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on October 16, several political leaders and activists have been arrested in different cities and cases have been registered against them.
Containers were called in to block possible entrances and exits of Gujranwala city. According to sources, 7 cases have been registered in different police stations in Gujranwala for holding corner meetings without permission and violating Corona SOPs. According to CPO Sarfraz Falaki, implementation of Corona SOPs should be ensured in all cases. Corner meetings and public gatherings will not be allowed without the NOC. On the other hand, PML-N and PPP lawyers staged a protest outside the DC office and chanted slogans against the denial of permission to hold a rally at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala.
