Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IG Sanaullah Abbasi has revealed that the real target of the Dir Colony madrassa attack was a muezzin.
Speaking on a private TV program, Sanaullah Abbasi said the operation appeared to have targeted the muezzin. The muezzin of the madrassa hails from Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. He was also attacked in 2016, but investigations are ongoing.
He said that there was a general threat alert regarding terrorist attacks and there was no specific alert. The terrorists arrested from Dir and Bajaur had said during the interrogation that there would be sabotage operations. The fabric of the recently arrested people comes from Afghanistan and they came to Pakistan in the form of formation.
