According to details, the spokesman of Pakistan Navy said that construction of Muljam class corvette for Pakistan Navy has started. Construction ceremony was held at Karachi Shipyard. According to Pakistan Navy spokesman, Turkish Minister of National Defense was the chief guest at the ceremony, Minister of Defense Production Zubeida Jalal and Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Niazi were also present at the ceremony. The Turkish Minister of National Defense said that the construction of the ship in the best quality, low cost and in a very short period of time would be a significant achievement. The plan will further boost Pakistan-Turkey defense ties.

Minister for Defense Production Zubeida Jalal said that the construction of a state-of-the-art ship at the local level is welcome, adding that the project would enhance the shipbuilding industry and its capabilities. According to the spokesman, the ship is equipped with surface-to-surface, underwater and air-to-air weapons and sensors. The spokesman further said that the construction of the ship will be completed in the year 2024, adding to the fleet will promote peace and stability.
