Abid Malhi, the main accused in the motorway case, has finally been arrested.
Accused Abid Malhi was arrested 35 days after the incident. According to police, accused Abid has been arrested from Faisalabad and is being shifted to Lahore. Shafqat Ali, another accused in the motorway case, is already in jail on judicial remand. Police officials said that the accused was hiding in Faisalabad in disguise.
On the other hand, Dr Shahbaz Gul, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Political Relations, also confirmed the arrest of Abid Malhi. He said in a tweet that inshallah he will be punished according to the law.
It may be recalled that a married woman was raped by two accused during a robbery on Lahore-Sialkot Motorway last night. Law enforcement agencies had already arrested one accused, Shafqat Ali, from Okara, but the main accused, Abid Malhi, escaped each time.
