Maulana Adil's assassination is a conspiracy to ignite civil war in the country: Mufti Taqi Usmani
Leading religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani has strongly condemned the assassination of Maulana Dr Adil Khan and said that the incident was a conspiracy to ignite civil war. According to media reports, Mufti Taqi Usmani lamented the killing of Maulana Adil and said, "We have to thwart the conspiracy with patience as criminal murder is a conspiracy to fan the flames of civil war in the country."
Maulana Adil Khan was our capital, we regret his martyrdom. This is a great tragedy. Mufti Taqi Usmani said that it was the duty of the government to arrest the killers of Dr Adil and bring them to justice. It may be recalled that this evening at around 7.30 pm, Maulana Adil's car was fired upon in Shah Faisal No. 2, as a result of which he and his driver were killed.
Political and religious parties strongly condemned Maulana's assassination and demanded that the government arrest the killers and urge the people to remain united in their ranks. It is to be noted that IG Sindh and Karachi Police Chief confirmed that Maulana's close associate named Umair was fortunately safe in the firing incident while Raja Umar Khattab, in-charge of Counter Terrorism Department said that the assailants chased Maulana Targeted.
Raja Umar Khattab had said that this was a conspiracy to promote sectarianism in the country. It may be recalled that according to the announcement issued by the Federation of Madrassas, Maulana's funeral prayers will be offered at 9 am tomorrow at Jamia Farooqia Phase 2 Hub Road while burial will take place at Jamia Farooqia Hub.
