Maulana Adil Khan, superintendent of Farooqia University, Karachi, was martyred in an assassination attempt.
According to private TV, Maulana Adil Khan was present in a double cabin vehicle in Shah Faisal Colony where unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on his vehicle. Maulana Adil Khan was injured in the firing while his driver Maqsood was martyred. Maulana Adil was rushed to Liaquat National Hospital but could not recover. According to private TV GNN, Maulana Adil Khan was targeted on his way back from Darul Uloom Karachi (Korangi).
It may be recalled that Maulana Adil was the son of the late Maulana Saleemullah Khan, the former head of the Federation of Arab Schools.
