Lahore Excise system unable to register Lamborghini car

A citizen in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province, has approached the Excise Department to register a car worth Rs 120 million, but the system has not been able to register a vehicle worth more than Rs 100 million. The file has been returned.

Speaking to Urdu News, Nadeem Chaudhry, Head, Excise Department, DHA Branch Motor Registration, said, “This Lamborghini car file was brought to our office ten days ago for registration. When we started registering it in the system, we found out that our system is not capable of registering a car worth more than Rs 100 million.

He further said that since the entire IT system of Excise is run by Punjab Information Board, he was informed about this but so far the system could not be upgraded. So today this file has been returned to the citizen. Now when this facility is introduced in the system, the citizen will be called again.

Citizen Khurram (pseudonym) belongs to a business family in Lahore, and the Lamborghini car was given to him by his father as a birthday present.

Talking to Urdu News, Khurram Bay said, “My father has paid crores of rupees in customs to bring this car to Pakistan and I am surprised that there is no system for registration of such a car in Pakistan. I have been visiting the excise office for ten days and now the file has been returned to me. I can't even drive it without a number plate. '

Khurram's father is involved in the local motorcycle industry and, as promised, gave his son a Lamborghini car as a birthday present.

According to excise officer Nadeem Chaudhry, "The registration of this car will give the department a tax of Rs 5 million. However, this will require not only amendments to the rules but also upgrading of computer software."

According to the excise department, the most expensive car registered earlier was GT Mercedes worth Rs 98 million, which was also given to his son as a gift by a big Pakistani businessman. The fee was received.

Nadeem Chaudhry says that the main reason for this problem is that when making laws, it was not envisaged to bring a car more than Rs 100 million and this is the most expensive car ever brought in Punjab.
