Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has approved to file corruption references against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Aftab Sultan, Fawad Hassan Fawad.
A meeting of the NAB Executive Board was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
In this meeting, the chairman NAB has approved to file new references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former planning minister Ahsan Iqbal and other important personalities.
According to a statement issued by the NAB, it has been approved to file a corruption reference against the PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
PML-N has also approved to file a corruption reference against Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal.
According to NAB, former Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal is accused of misusing his powers and increasing the scope of Sports City from Rs 3 crore to Rs 3 billion.
Similarly, the Chairman NAB has also approved to file a reference against former DG Pakistan Sports Board Akhtar Nawaz Ganjira.
The NAB statement said that a reference of corruption has also been approved against former Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, former DG IB Aftab Sultan, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad.
