In the event of the UK's secession from Europe, some daily necessities will become more than three times more expensive than import costs. Rising tariffs on imported goods have led to a sharp rise in inflation. A government spokesman says they are thwarting the results, which run until December 31. The ministers asked why the text was needed. In the letter, Mr Wells said World Trade Organization tariffs would be more expensive than daily import indicators, with some index prices rising by as much as 30 per cent and more.
