According to the US National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Delta turned into Category One after hitting the coast of Louisiana.
In Lake Charles, Louisiana, the storm caused winds of 150 kilometers per hour and heavy rains while waves up to 11 feet high in the sea.
The U.S. Coast Guard closed the ports of Beaumont, Texas and Lake Charles due to the storm.
