Preparations for the meeting of the opposition Ittehad-e-Pakistan Democratic Moment (PDM) in Gujranwala district of Punjab have been completed. The district administration has made it mandatory for attendees to implement Corona SOPs.
Drink flakes are also hanging and an 80-foot-long, 24-foot-wide stage is being set up. Under the SOPs, chairs will be installed at a distance of six feet. If the Corona SOPs are not implemented, the administration will take action. Corona SOPs must be followed during the meeting. No worker will be able to go to the meeting place without a mask and sanitizer.
The meeting will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 12:00 pm. Cases will be registered against the meeting administration for violating the agreement. A 28-point agreement has been reached between the PDM leadership and the district administration. According to the notification, the government has given conditional permission to the PDM to hold a rally at Jinnah Stadium.
On the day of the meeting, containers will be placed at the entrances of the city for the security of the participants. Only pedestrians will be allowed to walk towards the venue. CPO Gujranwala Sarfraz Falaki said that corner meetings and public gatherings would not be allowed without NOC from the administration.
He said that implementation of Corona SOPs would be ensured in all cases and strict action would be taken against those violating the law. In Gujranwala, 7 cases have also been registered for violation of unauthorized corner meeting and Corona SOPs.
