Decision to maintain prices of petroleum products for next 15 days

The government has decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days. The Prime Minister has approved to maintain the prices. OGRA had sent a summary of the reduction in the prices of petroleum products. According to details, the government has decided to maintain the old prices instead of reducing the prices of petroleum products.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Finance to maintain the prices of petrol and diesel. It may be recalled that the summary sent by OGRA had recommended to reduce the prices by reducing the levy on petroleum products. The summary said that the price of petrol is more than Rs 27 per liter, the price of mud is more than Rs 11 per liter and diesel is Rs 30 per liter.

Prices can be reduced by reducing the levy rate. The summary recommended that the prices of petroleum products be reduced from October 16. Similarly, the prices of petroleum products were slightly modified by the Finance Ministry from October 1. Only the price of high speed diesel per liter was reduced. From October 1, the price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 2.40 per liter.

The price of petrol was maintained at Rs 103.97 per liter, kerosene at Rs 65.29 per liter and light diesel at Rs 62.86 per liter. The new price of high speed diesel was fixed at Rs 104.06 per liter. After the reduction in Corona, the consumption of jet fuel used for air travel increased by 27%. Consumption of jet fuel in the local aviation industry last month was 38,473 tonnes as against 30,286 tonnes in August. Last month, consumption of furnace oil also increased by 20% and consumption of furnace oil reached 392,000 tonnes. On the surface, kerosene consumption also increased by 15% to 8417 tons, petrol consumption decreased and sales decreased by 8% to 655,000 tons, diesel consumption decreased by 7% to 485,000 tons. Consumption of high octane also remained low during the month and sales of more than 111,000 tonnes of high octane were reduced by 20%, while consumption of light diesel oil decreased by 33% to 957 tonnes.
