China has welcomed Pakistan's decision to lift the ban on popular video-sharing app Tik Tok.
During a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said, "The government always instructs overseas Chinese enterprises to adhere strictly to local and international rules and regulations and fully respect local traditions and religions."
"We are pleased to know that the parties concerned are resolving issues through consultations in a friendly atmosphere."
It should be noted that two days ago, the government of Pakistan had restored 'Tik Tok' in Pakistan only after 10 days on conditional permission.
The PTA restored Tik Tok to Pakistan on the afternoon of October 19 after conditional permission.
A statement issued by the PTA said that Tik Tok was restored with conditional permission.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, the ban was lifted in view of the healthy digital experience of the Internet and the development of digital companies in the country.
The PTA said the Tik Tok administration has assured that unethical and inappropriate content will not be promoted on the platform and that users who are permanently involved in uploading illegal content will be able to use the platform.
The government blocked Tik Tok on October 9 this month for not removing immoral content.
The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) had shut down Tik Tok for not removing pornographic material despite repeated notices.
Shortly after the PTA was shut down, the Tik Tok administration began talks with the Pakistani government and assured the government that pornography would be removed.
