A program in solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris was organized by the Pakistani embassy in the Turkish capital Ankara, with Ali Shaheen, chairman of the Turkish-Pakistan Friendship Group in the Turkish parliament, as the chief guest.
Deputy Head of Mission Arshad Jan Pathan read out messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Pakistani leadership reiterated the political, moral and diplomatic support of the Kashmiri people until the dispute is resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Addressing the ceremony, Turkish parliamentarian Ali Shaheen said that Kashmir has been turned into a hell and it is a matter of concern for the international community. Ali Shaheen appealed to the Western world to break its silence and raise its voice for the Kashmiri people who are being crushed by Indian atrocities.
He stressed that as a Turkish nation we will stand by the oppressed Kashmiris and continue to support Turkey until the Kashmir issue is resolved peacefully in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Will remain

Turkish student Naseeb Yava also addressed the event. An exhibition of photographs by Turkish NGO Kensui on ongoing human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was also arranged during the event.
