The US space agency NASA will send its crew to Mars by 2030. Which will cover 40 million miles in three months.
NASA's nuclear engine can take humans to Mars in just three months. According to the Ultra Safe Nuclear Technology Company, two rockets will be installed in the engine powered by nuclear power.
It usually takes seven months to get to Mars, but the new nuclear engine will make the journey possible in three months.
According to the company, once completed, the nuclear engine will be safer and faster than in the past. Its engine will also be able to speed up travel to planets other than Mars.
The engine is said to outperform existing technology in the market.
The engine will use a special fuel that will produce more energy with less uranium. The firm recommends packaging the fuel in zirconium carbide fragments that can withstand maximum temperatures without damaging the fuel.
"Our priority would be for scientists to spend at least 30 days on Mars, and this time could be extended to a year or three years," NASA organizers.
