The Diana Award

The prestigious British Lady Diana Award is given annually on the occasion of Princess Diana's birthday on July 1 each year to young people from different countries who have contributed to the well-being of the people in their country. Since the launch of the award, 27 young people from different countries of the world have received this award. Among the recipients of this year's "Diana Award" were five young Pakistanis who received the award at a recent ceremony in London. They include Mohammad Shoaib Bangash, Raina Khan, Nabila Abbas, Umar Mukhtar and Ahmed. Below is a brief account of the social services of these youth.

Muhammad Shoaib Bangash

Shoaib Bangash, from Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is well known for his work for the welfare of the youth in the province. He represented Pakistan at international youth conferences in New York, Geneva, Bangkok, London, Berlin and Sri Lanka. In 2019, he was awarded the International People's Choice Leadership Award. In 2019, he received the Global Youth Leadership Award, while in July 2020, he received the "Diana Award".

Raina Burkey

Raina Khan Burki, 18, lives in Lahore and runs an NGO called the "Women's Foundation" to empower underage girls and women. A school has been set up under the auspices of the foundation in which girls are educated. She has also set up a vocational training center. When she was young, her father Adeel Khan Burki opened an old age home in Jomali. Closed after some time due to difficulties.

With the help of her classmates, Raina rented a room and founded the Women's Foundation, under which the school was opened. Raina Khan Burki was one of 23 Pakistani women selected for the 2017 US Summer Sister Program. In 2018, she was the first Pakistani to be selected for the Global Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference. This year, she has been awarded the "Diana Award" in London.

Nabila Abbas

Nabila Abbas, from Choti Zarrin village in Dera Ghazi Khan district, made welfare work in rural Pakistan her life's work. To this end, she is taking steps to help girls living in rural areas stand on their own two feet and gain a dignified place in society.

Despite living in a rural environment, Nabila was keen to pursue higher education from her childhood and completed her bachelor's degree in aviation from the University of Management and Technology, Lahore. She also founded the Aviation Literary Forum in the country. The purpose of is to provide information about aviation to girls. Their services were rewarded two months ago in the form of "Diana Award".

Ahmed Toor

Ahmed Toor, the fourth Pakistani youth to receive the Lady Diana Award, lives in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan. He is the first person in the city to be awarded an international award. Ahmed Tor is the president of MAPS, a social organization, and has been re-elected to the position for the second time. Provides support and conducts seminars and workshops to empower and empower young people. She has been associated with the organization for the past four years and is now internationally acclaimed for her social services and has received the Diana Award.

Omar Mukhtar

Omar Mukhtar from Faisalabad is a teacher. He founded the "Book Foundation" organization in his hometown. The purpose of this was to provide free books to school students who do not have money to buy books so that they can continue their education. He then set up the Sadaqat Foundation. The foundation's platform raised 30 30,000 to build schools in rural areas where young people do not have access to education.

As a young teacher, he faced difficulties in the beginning, but he completed the projects he started. He is the fifth Pakistani youth to receive the Diana Award.
