Proposal to extend the tenure of Chairman NAB

The government rejected the proposal to extend the tenure of the chairman NAB.

The government has rejected the proposal to extend the tenure of NAB chairman and deputy chairman. The proposal was rejected by the Ministry of Law and Justice. The proposal to extend the tenure of the Prosecutor General NAB was also rejected. The NAB had proposed to extend the tenure of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Prosecutor General. According to the Ministry of Law and Justice, no concrete reasons have been given for the amendment. The term of employment cannot be extended on the basis of harmony.

It may be recalled that the opposition parties continue to make statements against the National Accountability Bureau and the Chairman NAB, while the arrests of the opposition leaders by the PML-N are also termed as the result of the "NAB-Niazi Nexus". Sharif had also taken a smoky stance against the NAB chairman in his press conference.
