Corruption allegations against Shaukat Khanum Hospital, court shocks PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi

Shaukat Khanum Cancer Memorial Hospital has given a strong verdict while accepting the compensation claim against PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi.

A local court has ruled in the Shaukat Khanum Hospital compensation case and ordered to pay Rs 5 million to PML-N leader and former National Assembly member Hanif Abbasi. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sahibzada Naqib Shehzad pronounced the verdict in the case but PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi did not come to the court to hear the verdict. The court rejected all the allegations of Hanif Abbasi against the management of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. The PML-N leader had leveled allegations of serious corruption against the management of Shaukat Khanum Hospital many years ago but he could not prove these allegations. The hospital management filed a case against Hanif Abbasi in 2012 seeking Rs 10 billion in damages. It was described as an attempt to tarnish its image.
