Iranian President's direct response to the United States.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that the Iranian people will never bow to US pressure.

Reacting to the announcement of US sanctions on Iran, the Iranian president said that the US would definitely lose the sanctions move.

He said the United States would face a backlash from the international community over its sanctions decision, and that Iran would respond to US threats.

Hassan Rouhani added that the United States should respect the rights of the Iranian people and international law, and that members of the Security Council should resist the US decision.

He said that Iran is also ready to fully abide by the 2015 nuclear deal.

Earlier, the United States announced that it would re-impose UN sanctions on Iran.
