Hand sanitizer began to be used for ball tampering

Despite taking 3 wickets, Sussex dropped the senior cricketer from the squad. The English Cricket Board also started an investigation into the matter. According to details, when the ICC banned the ball from being spit on, the bowlers started looking for new ways, including Sussex's Mitch Cladden, who was suspended for hand sanitizer on the ball, in Australia. The 37-year-old right-arm medium pacer is accused of using a hand sanitizer during a match against Middlesex last month, taking three wickets.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has also launched an investigation. Sussex said in a statement that the ECB had launched an investigation into allegations by Mitchell Clyden that he had used a sanitizer on the ball in the middle of the match. "We have suspended the bowler until the outcome is known. Can't comment further."

It should be noted that the International Cricket Council banned the use of saliva on the ball due to the corona virus, however, the use of sweat was allowed. It was strictly forbidden to use any kind of artificial object to polish the ball and to do so is tantamount to tampering with the ball, due to the suspension. The 14-member squad will not be included.
