Fearing an exam, an Indian student committed suicide by jumping into a well

In India, a 19-year-old student ended his life for fear of exams.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place in the state of Tamil Nadu, where a 19-year-old student, Vagnesh, jumped into a well for fear of exams. Police have expressed suspicion that he committed suicide.

Vagnesh's parents say their son was upset because of the medical exam because he had taken it twice before and failed.

According to the police, the young man did not leave any note before his death but the investigation of his death is underway. Preliminary investigation shows that the young man has committed suicide.

It may be recalled that even three years ago, a student from Tamil Nadu had taken a test for admission in medical in which she had committed suicide after failing to do so, while this student had secured top position in the entrance examination.

Indian politician Dr S. Ramadoss said that Vagnesh had scored 486 marks out of 500 in the Class X examination while he had scored 1006 marks out of 1200 in the final examination of Private Medical College Net and Plus Two.

He demanded that the number and grade for admission should be abolished or else a series of suicides would continue to occur.
