On the first day of the Manchester Test, Pakistan scored 139 runs for the loss of 2 wickets

Pakistan won the first day of the ongoing Manchester Test between Pakistan and England, scoring 139 runs for the loss of 2 wickets by the end of the day.

In the match being played at Old Trafford, Pakistani captain Azhar Ali decided to bat first after winning the toss.

Left-arm batsmen Shaun Masood and Abid Ali started the innings for Pakistan.

Together, the duo gave the team a 36-run lead on the first wicket where Joffra Archer bowled Abid Ali cleanly to end his innings.

After him, the poor performance of captain Azhar Ali, who came to the wicket, continued and he fell victim to Chris Vokes without scoring a run.

Thus, the national team lost its crucial two wickets on a total of 43, but then Babar Azam with Shaun Masood took over the team.

Rain continued intermittently at Old Trafford, allowing only 49 overs to play, but the match was called off due to poor lighting.

By the end of the day, the Shaheens had scored 139 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Babar Azam has completed his 14th half-century in Test cricket, which is unbeaten on 69, while Shaun Masoo is on the crease with 46 runs.
