Washington (Daily Pakistan Online) The spread of the corona virus around the world and the fact that the global community is not on the same page regarding vaccines are raising various concerns regarding the treatment of this epidemic.
US billionaire Bill Gates has warned that the global epidemic could be long-term if the drugs used to combat covid-19 or future vaccines go to those who pay the most.
According to the BBC, he said that if these drugs and vaccines were to be found at a higher cost, then a "long-term, unjust and deadly global epidemic" awaited us.
Gates stressed that such drugs should be available in the countries where they are most needed.
Vaccines are currently being developed around the world, with European countries and the United States spending billions of dollars, especially on such potential vaccines. It has also raised fears that rich countries may not buy a large portion of the food for such useful medicines.
The European Commission and the World Health Organization have warned that this unfair competition could lead to harm. However, US officials have indicated that they would prefer Americans in such cases.
The number of people infected with the corona virus worldwide has exceeded 12.6 million, while more than 564,000 people have died from the disease so far.
The United States is the most affected country in the world by Corona, with more than 3.2 million people infected and about 135,000 dead so far.
The disease has so far been confirmed in more than 248,000 people in Pakistan, with 5,197 deaths. So far, 156,700 people have recovered from the disease.
