Discover the 'secret world' of marine life hidden beneath the surface of Antarctica

Scientists have discovered a 'secret world' hidden beneath the ice sheet of the icy continent Antarctica.

New Zealand scientists have discovered lobster-like creatures in a river beneath an iceberg a few hundred kilometers off the Russian ice shelf. The scientists were trying to find out what effects climate change has had on glaciers.

But when they dug a hole, the river was discovered, and a group of fish called amphipods stormed the camera.

According to the scientists, for some time we felt that there was something wrong with the camera, but when the scene got a little better, we saw fish of 5 mm size. "We were shocked to see this scene because it is clear from these creatures that there is a conducive environment for life here," he added.

The same team had recently discovered the mouth of a river hidden under ice by satellite images of the Russian ice shelf.

Scientists say that although we are aware of the rivers hidden under the ice sheet of Antarctica, they have not yet been directly surveyed.

"Observing a river now is like entering a secret world for the first time," he said. "We were shocked to see this scene because it is clear from these creatures that there is a conducive environment for life here," he added.

They left the instruments in the river for observation, and the laboratory will test what makes this water unique.
