Why did the fast bowler wear a plastic shield on his face in IPL?
In cricket, you have always seen batsmen wearing helmets and other protective guards to avoid the fast bowlers.
But in the last few days, all-rounder Rishi Dhawan, who was part of the Punjab Kings team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was seen bowling while wearing a plastic protective shield on his face which surprised the cricket fans.
Because the bowler has never been seen wearing such a protective shield on his face before.
What's the matter?
According to Indian media reports, right-handed fast bowler Rishi Dhawan was actually injured in the second round of the Ranji Trophy when a ball from a better shot hit his face in the follow-through and he had to undergo nose surgery. He lost the first four matches of the season to Punjab Kings.

To protect his nose, the right-arm fast bowler wore a protective shield over his face in the match against Chennai Super Kings.
Punjab Kings also released a video message on social media in which Rishi Dhawan was talking about his injury and then playing in IPL again.

On the other hand, seeing the protective mask on Rishi's face, memes were also shared on social media.
