A British court has sentenced teacher Paul Shin to 10 years in prison for molesting six students in the United Arab Emirates.
Paul Shin, a 49-year-old teacher at a British school in the United Arab Emirates, assaulted two students, aged 8 and 9, and fired them in 2019, according to the International News Agency.
The teacher was accused of not only abusing the students by giving them gifts and going for walks, but also of making obscene pictures of them and repeatedly telling the children to be naked.
After being fired, the British teacher arrived in London to avoid legal action, but a year later police arrested the teacher and in January 2020 a jury found him guilty of abusing six children.
In the UK, the case against Teacher Paul Shin was prosecuted under section 72 of the Sexual Offenses Act, which allows British citizens to be tried abroad for sexual offenses committed in the UK.
The court sentenced the accused to 10 years imprisonment in the light of witnesses and confession. The decision was delayed by two years due to Corona sanctions.
