Why didn't Amitabh Bachchan attend the last rites?
The reason why Amitabh Bachchan did not attend the last rites of Lata Mangeshkar has come to light.
Lata's last rites were performed at Mumbai's Shivji Park. However, Indian media quoted sources as saying that Bachchan went to Lata ji's house in Mumbai and offered condolences to her family. He was with his daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan. After offering condolences to the family, Bachchan returned. Went and did not attend the last rites.
Sources further said that Amitabh Bachchan did not attend the last rites due to code protocols as Lata ji's last rites were being performed in the open ground so Amitabh feared that his departure might bring the gathering together. Her health and the health of others may be at stake, so she decided not to go there.
Why didn't Dharmendra come?
Even Dharmendra, a well-known actor of his time, did not appear in Lata Mangeshkar's last rites.
Talking to Indian media in this regard, Dharmendra said that he was ready to go three times but he did not dare.
Dharmendra says, "I did not have the courage to see Lata Ji leaving us all, so he did not go to the last rites."
Dharmendra further said that he was very upset after hearing the news of Lata Mangeshkar's death. He agreed to go three times but could not.
He said: "Lata used to send me presents, send me encouraging messages and tell me to be brave. Once I wrote about my health on Twitter, her phone rang. She started asking goodbye and kept talking to me for half an hour.
Dharmendra said that even before his death, the two often talked in chat.
It may be recalled that Lata Mangeshkar was in hospital since January 8 due to corona and passed away on February 6.
