Peshawar police took notice of the incident on Tuesday when a woman allegedly nailed a fake agent in her head to give birth to a boy, forcing her to be rushed to hospital.
After pictures of the woman went viral on social media, Peshawar Police Chief Abbas Ahsan took notice of the incident and directed SP City Atiq Shah to trace the victim and the fake agent.
A tweet from the Peshawar CCPO's Twitter account said that SSP Shah reached Lady Reading Hospital where the woman was treated and met the hospital management to view the victim's entry data.

Earlier, CCPO Abbas Ahsan said that a special team has been formed to bring the fake Monday to justice. He drove a nail into his head.
He said the team would also investigate why the doctor treating the woman did not report the incident to police.
Meanwhile, Dr Haider Suleiman, a neurosurgeon at Lady Reading Hospital, said the victim was bleeding from her head when she was brought in and was given first aid before being taken to the operating theater.
The doctor said that the woman said that a woman from her area did the same thing (nail in the head) and gave birth to a boy even though the ultrasound showed the sex of the person being born. Special team has been made to bring to justice the fake Pir who played with the life of an innocent woman & put a nail in her head, with a false promise of a male child.
The team will also investigate why incident was not reported to police by the treating doctor.
According to the doctor, it is not yet clear whether a man drove a nail into the woman's head or did it himself.
Dr Suleiman said the nail had penetrated into the victim's skull, she was at home and had fainted, while attempts were made at home to remove the nail from the woman's head.
He said that the family members tried to remove him but failed but the doctors successfully removed him after a successful operation.
Hospital staff told that according to their investigation, the woman is a mother of three daughters and that her husband had allegedly threatened to leave her if she gave birth to a fourth daughter.
She added that the woman was three months pregnant and out of fear of her husband, she went to a fake agent who gave her amulets, some things for recitation and a nail.
The staff added that the victim came home and nailed her head. When she started screaming in pain, the family members found out the cause and rushed her to the hospital.
The staff also quoted the victim as saying that she would have an ultrasound after some time to find out the sex of her unborn child.
