The Australian government has revoked the visa of Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic to Australia.
The world number one tennis star is in Australia to participate in the Australian Open. The Australian Open kicks off in Melbourne on January 17.
When world number one Novak Djokovic arrived in Melbourne last week to participate in the first Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year, the Australian Open, airport authorities barred him from entering on the grounds of vaccine exemptions and false visas.
Novak Djokovic's visa was revoked and he was detained at a government detention hotel, a move Djokovic's lawyers had appealed to the court.
World number one Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has since won an Australian deportation case, after an Australian court annulled Djokovic's visa revocation.
According to the court decision, the government failed to give a valid reason for revoking the tennis star's visa.
It is to be noted that the Australian court had also ordered the government to pay compensation to tennis star Novak Djokovic.
