Israeli warplanes bombed at least three locations in Gaza, setting them on fire and destroying all three buildings.
A spokesman for the Israeli military said Hamas had targeted a rocket factory, a military checkpoint and a training center in Gaza, according to the International News Agency.
The Israeli military spokesman added that the airstrikes were carried out by Hamas in response to the firing of two rockets from Gaza into Israeli territory.
Hamas, on the other hand, says the rockets were tested in a maritime area without any loss of life or property. Israel has justified its aggression.
Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza for 11 days in May last year, killing more than 200 people, including 65 children, injuring thousands and destroying dozens of buildings, but a Jordanian-brokered ceasefire was agreed.
Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli army has periodically carried out air strikes on Gaza under the pretext of fireball attacks, the first time since September that fighter jets have bombed Gaza.
