A new strain of corona virus has been confirmed in 15 members of the same family attending a wedding in the capital Islamabad. The number of patients infected with Omicron in the city reached 66.
According to the news, Omicron virus is spreading rapidly in Islamabad. In view of the rapid increase in the spread of Omicron virus, DHO Islamabad Dr. Zaeem Zia has issued a formal advisory.
According to the advisory, 15 people from the same household who attended the wedding ceremony in Islamabad were confirmed to have Omicron. In the last 24 hours, 34 more people fell victim to Omicron in the city, bringing the total number of patients to 66.
According to the DHO, the first case of Omicron was reported in Islamabad on December 25, while the number of patients infected with Omicron in Islamabad till yesterday was only 32.
The advisory issued by Dr. Zaeem Zia has directed the citizens to avoid unnecessary participation in New Year celebrations, ensure implementation of SOPs to prevent Omicron virus, unnecessary on New Year's Eve. Avoid traveling and violating SOPs, avoid crowded places, weddings, shopping malls, markets, only vaccinated people go out with their families, make sure to use masks and sanitizers.
The DHO says vaccination is the only way to protect against the omega-3 virus, and citizens must vaccinate themselves and their loved ones.
