The government and the Election Commission have been contacted on the issue of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
According to details, after the letter of the Election Commission, the government has contacted the Election Commission. After which the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission has met the Chief Election Commissioner. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding storerooms of electronic voting machine, construction of field offices at a cost of Rs 1.20 billion, database storage. The Election Commission has also decided to recruit 20 people for project management.
In the meeting, the Election Commission has approved to provide space for EVM storage. Rs. 22.3 million has been sanctioned for storage of EVMs. Election Commission will have to store three to four lakh electronic voting machines.
