Israeli Environment Minister Tamar Zendberg has said that the agreement reached between the government and the UAE regarding the import of Emirati oil is not workable.
Speaking to Israeli Army Radio, the Environment Minister said that the implementation of the agreement has been stopped. He said that the agreement was on paper but it was not possible to put it into practice. In no case can more tankers arrive than the number of UAE oil tankers allowed in the country.
It should be noted that the agreement reached between Israel and the UAE regarding oil came after the establishment of relations between the two countries. The agreement was reached between the European government-owned Europe Asia Pipeline Company (EAPC) and the United Arab Emirates-Israel joint Med Redland Bridge Company. EAPC is the same company that was established in 1960 to transport Iranian oil to Israel.
