An Indian Air Force helicopter has crashed in Tamil Nadu, killing at least 11 people and injuring three others.
According to Indian media, 14 people, including India's Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat and his wife, were aboard the helicopter. Eleven people were confirmed dead in the accident while three others were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Indian military officials have not said whether former Army Chief and current Defense Chief of Staff Bipin Rawat was killed or injured in the helicopter crash, but it is feared that General Bipin Rawat may have been killed in the crash.

An Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
According to Indian media, an Indian Air Force helicopter was en route from Air Force Base to Army Defense Services College when it crashed near Kannur in Tamil Nadu. The Indian Air Force has formed an inquiry committee to investigate the accident.
