Babar Azam nominated for ODI Player of the Year

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been named in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) ODI Player of the Year.

Apart from Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, South Africa's Yanman Milan and Ireland's Paul Sterling are also among the ICC's nominees for ODIs.

In the ICC ODI and T20 cricket rankings, Pakistan's Babar Azam is at number one in batting.

It is to be noted that the ICC had yesterday made four nominations for the best T20 player of the year in which Muhammad Rizwan of Pakistan, Hassa Ranga of Sri Lanka, Mitchell Marsh of Australia and Jose Butler of England were announced.

The Player of the Year will be chosen by ballot in which cricket fans will choose the best player of the year. The awards will be announced on January 24.
