Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and accused in a drug case, got a big relief from the court.
Aryan Khan, who was arrested and released in a drug case in October, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on the condition that he would have to visit the Mumbai office of the Narcotics Control Bureau every Friday. However, the court has now lifted the bail condition.
According to Indian media, the decision came from the Bombay High Court today. The court said that whenever the Special Investigation Team (SIT) summons Aryan Khan, he will have to appear in person in Delhi.
It may be recalled that 23-year-old Aryan Khan had filed an application in the High Court seeking amendment in one of the 14 conditions of his bail.
Aryan Khan had said in his petition that he was accused by the media during his visit to the NCB office every Friday. He had argued in his plea that as the investigation of the case had been shifted to the Special Investigation Team in Delhi, his decision to visit the NCB's Mumbai office every Friday could be relaxed.
Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 on charges of possessing drugs from a ship off the coast of Mumbai. However, he was released on bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28 due to insufficient evidence against him.
