T20 World Cup: Pakistan reached the semi-finals by defeating Namibia

Pakistan beat Namibia thanks to excellent batting by captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to win the event for the fourth time in a row and also qualify for the semi-finals.

In the Super 12 round match played in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.

When Pakistan started the innings, Robin Trumppelman bowled well and bowled the first over and it was Mohammad Rizwan who bowled the maiden over in T20 cricket.

Pakistan's openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan found it difficult to play big shots due to the Namibian bowlers' poor bowling.

After 10 overs, both the batsmen adopted an aggressive style and laid the foundation of the team's big score and scored 18 runs in the third over of Triple Man who gave one run in two overs.

The Pakistan openers once again put on a fine performance and put on a century partnership for the first wicket.

Both the players gave the team a 113-run lead after which Babar Azam returned to the pavilion. He played an innings of 70 off 49 balls with the help of 7 fours.

Fakhr Zaman's stay on the wicket was short and behind the wickets Zen Green took a brilliant catch and dismissed him to the pavilion.

Muhammad Rizwan at the other end also completed his half century which is his second fifty in the tournament.

Pakistan scored 24 runs in the last over of the innings thanks to Muhammad Rizwan's aggressive batting after which Pakistan scored 189 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the stipulated overs.

Mohammad Rizwan scored 79 off 50 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 8 fours while Mohammad Hafeez scored 32 off 16 balls.

Hafeez and Rizwan shared 67 off 26 balls and Pakistan scored 130 in the last 10 overs.

Namibia started chasing the target, then in the second over, Hassan Ali moved the rival team's opener Michael van Langen.

Stephen Bard and Craig Williams put on a 47-run partnership, but a misunderstanding while trying to take a run between the wickets at the same stage resulted in Bard's 29-run innings coming to an end.

Pakistan soon got a chance to take the third wicket but Shaheen Shah Afridi could not take an easy catch on the ball of Shadab Khan.

However, Erasmus could not take advantage of this drop catch and his innings came to an end on the ball of Emad in the next over.

When the score reached 93, Shadab Khan got the first wicket of the match by dismissing Craig Williams while JJ Smuts could also score only two runs.

In the closing overs, David Wiese batted aggressively but his innings did not save Namibia from defeat. Wiese scored 43 off 31 balls.

Namibia scored 144 for 5 in the allotted overs and Pakistan won the match by 45 runs.

For Pakistan, Hassan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.

With the victory in this match, Pakistan won for the fourth time in a row and qualified for the semi-finals.
