New Zealand: Consultant appeals against punishment for attacking worshipers

The man convicted of killing 51 worshipers at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, has begun considering a review of his life sentence.

According to the foreign news agency 'Reuters', the lawyer of the accused told the state radio that Brenten Terrant had confessed to being involved in the attack in the year 2019.

Brenten Terrant, 31, of White Farm, was sentenced to life in prison on March 15, 2019, in separate attacks on two mosques in Christchurch.

At least 51 people were killed and at least 40 were injured in what became known as the Cold War.

It should be noted that this was the largest massacre in the history of the country.

For the first time in New Zealand history, a prisoner has been sentenced to life in prison.

Brenton's lawyer, Tony Ellis, told Radio New Zealand that he had been told last year by his client that he had been treated "humanely and insultingly" during the trial, which led him to plead guilty. Had to do

Ellis, Brenton Trent's sole lower back, claimed in a petition filed in Coroner's Court on behalf of his client that the Christchurch incident was investigated in all its aspects, after which appropriate action was taken.

He said that while he was waiting for the verdict, how he was treated, for which he decided to plead guilty while finding a simple way.

Ellis added that the act meant that he had been subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment during his remand, which made the decision unfair.

Brenton's lawyer said he had instructed his client to appeal against the life sentence without payroll because it was called "a sentence of despair" that violated the right to life. And they are considering that.

In response to a question, Ellis told Reuters that his client had instructed him via email to speak to specific local media outlets.

Brenten Terrant is an Australian citizen who attacked two Christchurch mosques during Friday prayers and broadcast the incident live using a head-mounted camera.
