Joint opposition, new opposition plan after "numerical defeat"

 

Leaders of the united opposition on Wednesday accused the Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, of tampering with the required number of votes in the passage of the bills during the joint sitting of the parliament, and of totally biased. Has categorically rejected the legislation in the joint sitting of the parliament.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement, said that the said legislation was put on the tip of a shoe.

According to reports, the United Opposition is once again holding consultations in the Parliament Houses on the government's measures to oppose the government and in this regard to file a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser. But the strategy is being considered.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the figures of counting conducted by the Speaker of the National Assembly in a joint sitting were challenged by the opposition while objecting and protesting.

This is not the first case of its kind. Opposition members have not only misrepresented the number of votes cast on the Speaker but also on the occasion of voting on bills, motions and quorum identification. Protests against them in the House and also walkout from the House after which during such stages for the counting of members along with the designated staff of the Secretariat of the National Assembly PML-N member and former Deputy Speaker Murtaza Abbasi also counting the members automatically. The joint meeting also sparked controversy as government member Murad Saeed objected to Murtaza Abbasi's interference in the counting process.

According to reports, some members of the opposition believe that in the coming days, if a no-confidence motion is moved against the Speaker of the National Assembly, the opposition will win by a clear margin.
