Government acknowledges ceasefire agreement with banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan


 
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the government and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have agreed to a complete ceasefire.

Talking about the talks with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Federal Minister for Information Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in his interview on October 1, 2021 had mentioned the talks with the banned TTP.

Fawad Chaudhry said that under an agreement, the government of Pakistan and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have agreed to a complete ceasefire. Can't negotiate outside the constitution and law.

He said that in these talks the sovereignty of the state, national security, peace, social and economic stability of the concerned areas will be taken into consideration. The people of Pakistan are being taken into confidence and it is gratifying that these areas of Pakistan are moving towards complete peace after a long time.

The Information Minister said that the ceasefire would be extended keeping in view the progress of the talks while the Interim Government of Afghanistan has played the role of facilitator in the talks.
