UK: Reham Khan loses contempt case, seeks unconditional apology from Zulfi Bukhari

Reham Khan, the ex-wife and anchor person of PM Imran Khan, termed the allegations leveled against Zulfi Bukhari, former special assistant to the PM, as false and demanded an unconditional apology from him.

Reham Khan shared an apology on the allegations against Zulfi Bukhari on the social networking site Twitter.

In his apology, Reham Khan said that on December 6 and 7, 2019, through a video on his YouTube channel, Facebook page and his Twitter account, Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari was asked to sell or acquire the Roosevelt Hotel in New York at a lower price. Made allegations that were false and untrue.

In his tweet, Reham Khan also termed the allegations of fraud and nepotism against Zulfi Bukhari on December 7, 2019, showing fake documents on March 15, 2020 and making money through illegal means or fraud as false and false.

Similarly, on March 17, 2020 and March 23, 2020, he said that the allegations against Zulfi Bukhari regarding his role in the management of the Corona epidemic were false and untrue.

Reham Khan offered an unconditional apology for the allegations against Zulfi Bukhari and agreed to pay for defamation and legal costs.

Welcoming the development, Zulfi Bukhari said, "Truth always triumphs."

He said in his tweet that "on the order of the court, Reham Khan publicly apologized and paid compensation for lying."

The PTI leader hoped that "one day our country will have a similar law and justice so that some members of the media who spread lies and fake news can be arrested."

Reacting to the development, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry tweeted: "British courts have ordered Reham Khan to pay damages and apologize for the false allegations against Zulfi Bukhari. The media owners start a campaign by saying against the expression.

"Anyway, Reham Khan proved to be a liar once again. In fact, he is used to lying," he said.

It is to be noted that Zulfi Bukhari had raised objections on these allegations and had sent a defamation notice to Reham Khan, in which it was said that he was targeted and accused of corruption.

Zulfi Bukhari has demanded withdrawal of charges, damages and legal costs in the defamation case.

A British judge later ruled that Reham Khan's words and content amounted to a first-degree charge.

This meant that defamatory words would be understood by any 'ordinary reader' and if the case went to trial, Reham Khan would probably have to prove his allegations against Zulfi Bukhari.
