Actor Alec Baldwin was actually shot during the shooting of the film in the US state of New Mexico.
According to US media, the shooting of the film was going on in Mexico, during which an accidental shot was fired, as a result of which a woman present on the spot was killed and a man was injured.
The woman killed was Helena Hutchins, 42, director of photography, according to media reports.
Police say the incident is being investigated and no arrests have been made so far.
According to media reports, not the real gun but the gun used in the movies was used during the shooting.
Keep in mind that death from a gun used during a shooting is rare. The same thing happened in 1993 with Brendan Lee, the son of the famous martial arts hero Bruce Lee.
Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on “Rust”. No one should ever be killed by a gun on a film set. Period. 💔

Brendan Lee was shot dead by a fellow actor during the shooting of The Crow in 1993. He was only 28 years old.
Following the news, Brandon Lee's family expressed regret over the incident and said that no such incident should have taken place during the shooting.
Note that the guns that are commonly used for shooting use 'Blanks' instead of real bullets. The shell and ammunition are the same as the real bullet, but they do not have the projectile outer part of the iron that quickly penetrates the real bullet and tears the target.
Blanks can also be dangerous because running them produces the same spark and pressure as a real pill.
