Former United States Secretary of State Colin Powell has died at the age of 84, according to the World News Agency. He had been suffering from COVID-19 for several days and was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

A statement from the family of the former secretary of state said that Colin Powell had completed a course of both vaccines but had contracted corona and was being treated at Walter Reed National Medical Center for corona complications.

General Luther Colin Powell was the first African-American citizen to reach the position of Secretary of State and to hold important positions in the military and government.

It should be noted that General Colin Powell was the US Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005 and before that he was also the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and National Security Adviser.
