Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, arrested on charges of drug use and possession, reserved judgment on his bail application and adjourned the hearing till October 20.
Aryan Khan will have to spend another week in jail as the court has not ruled on his bail application.
According to the Times of India, the Mumbai Sessions Court reserved judgment on Aryan Khan's application on October 14 and it will be announced on October 20.
Aryan Khan will remain in jail till October 20 due to non-delivery of verdict by the court.
During the hearing, Narcotics Force lawyers again opposed Aryan Khan's bail, telling the court that the investigation so far showed that Shah Rukh Khan's sons were addicted to drugs.
According to Anti-Drug Force lawyers, Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chat also shows that he has not only been addicted to drugs but is also part of the global drug network.
In this regard, the Hindustan Times reported that the lawyers of the Narcotics Force had remarked in court that Aryan Khan belonged to a very influential family and that releasing him on bail could jeopardize the evidence. ۔
Opposing the Anti-Drug Force lawyers, Aryan Khan's lawyers told the court that his clients were teenagers and could not be jailed on the basis of the language used in his WhatsApp chat.
According to Aryan Khan's lawyers, neither his client was arrested from within the cruise party nor drugs were recovered from him, he was arrested only on the basis of friendship.
The court, after hearing the remixes of both the parties, reserved the verdict and adjourned the hearing till October 20.
Earlier on October 11, Aryan Khan's bail application could not be heard. He had filed the application on October 9.
Before filing the application in the Sessions Court, Aryan Khan had also applied for bail in the Metropolitan Court but the court rejected his application on October 7 and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
Aryan Khan was sent to Mumbai's Arthur Jail on October 8 on a 14-day remand along with other arrested accomplices, while another woman, Manman Dhamicha, who was arrested along with him, was sent to another women's jail.
Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 from the Cruise Party on charges of drug use, including friends Arbaaz Merchant, Manman Dhamicha, Nopur Srika, Smit Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chopra and Gomat Chopra.
