YouTube bans all anti-vaccine content

YouTube has announced that it will block all anti-vaccine content on its platform.

This was announced by the company in a blog post.

According to the company, misleading content will be banned against the effects of all types of vaccines approved by the World Health Organization or countries beyond covid 19.

According to the company, consumers should avoid making misleading claims about any vaccine, such as saying about a vaccine that its use could lead to chronic side effects or that the vaccine does not reduce the spread of disease or protection. Action will be taken on non-receipt etc.

But the company said consumers would be allowed to post content about vaccine policies, new vaccine trials and the success or failure of vaccines in the past.

Consumers will be able to have a scientific discussion on vaccines and describe their personal experience, but misleading information about vaccines will not be allowed.

The company also said that channels that link to big names opposing vaccines will be removed from the platform.

"It takes time to formulate comprehensive policies. We want to launch a policy that is comprehensive, consistent, easy to implement and challenging," said Matt Halperin, YouTube's Vice President of Global Trust and Safety.

Along with YouTube, Facebook and Twitter have also banned misleading content regarding covid 19 disease and vaccines.

YouTube said in August 2021 that it had deleted one million videos on its platform based on highly dangerous misleading content related to covid 19.

Neil Mohan, YouTube's chief product officer, shared the figures on a blog, saying that 1 million videos have been deleted since February 2020.
