The United States has imposed new sanctions on Hezbollah and Al-Quds Force

Washington - The United States has imposed new sanctions on Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iran's Al-Quds Force, all of which are economic in nature.

The US Treasury Department said in a statement that the Hezbollah organization, the Al-Quds Force (IRGC, QF), dubbed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was raising funds for its terrorist purposes in a number of ways.

On Friday, the Biden administration, citing Hezbollah in particular, called on world governments to play their part in banning terrorist groups.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that Hezbollah desperately needs extra money. In this context, we want to call on governments around the world not to allow their country and financial institutions to be used for such terrorist organizations.

According to US officials, there is a large network in Kuwait and other countries that is raising tens of millions of dollars for Hezbollah and the Quds Force. The US Treasury Department has said that these organizations want to destabilize the entire region, including Lebanon.
