The Afghan Taliban has announced the formation of a new government in Afghanistan, with Muhammad Hassan Akhund as acting head of government and Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar as vice president.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid made the announcement at a press conference in Kabul. He said that the acting head of the new Islamic government would be Muhammad Hassan Akhund while Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar would be the vice president.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that Foreign Minister Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi, Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Defense Minister Maulvi Muhammad Yaqub, Information and Culture Minister Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Zabihullah Mujahid, Finance Minister Mullah Hidayatullah Badri Education Minister Sheikhullah Munir is being appointed, Maulvi Abdul Hakim will oversee judicial affairs while Mullah Abdul Haq will head the Afghan intelligence agency NDS.
The Taliban spokesman said that no one's intervention in Afghanistan is acceptable, we fought for 20 years against the US intervention in Afghanistan and finally won, Pakistan is not interfering in our affairs, it is just propaganda for 20 years. ۔
He said that an interim government has been formed but several names for various posts will be announced later.
