Taliban order women to study under the veil

The Taliban allowed university and college students to continue their education in full veil.

According to a foreign news agency, the Taliban has conditionally allowed private colleges and universities to reopen from tomorrow (Monday) and ordered separate classes for boys and girls in universities, or at least a separate curtain. While female students will have to wear abaya and niqab which will cover their entire face except the eyes.

According to lengthy documents released by the Taliban's Ministry of Education, only female students can teach female students, but if that is not possible, then an elderly man of good character should be hired. The order applies to all private colleges and universities whose numbers have grown rapidly since the fall of the Taliban's first term in office since 2001 and are set to reopen tomorrow.

During the first Taliban regime, most girls and women dropped out due to co-education and the ban on going out without a mahram.

According to orders issued yesterday, women are not required to wear a shuttlecock burqa (a burqa covering the hair from head to toe). Let their eyes be seen.

It should be noted that before the Taliban, the burqa and niqab had almost disappeared from the streets of Kabul and were confined to small towns and cities.

The new orders issued to the universities have instructed to recruit female teachers for female students as well as separate routes for men and women. While women's leave should be taken 5 minutes in advance so that they can not meet their male classmates outside.

Regarding the order issued by the Taliban's Ministry of Education, a university professor said on condition of anonymity that it is very difficult to do so in practice, adding that we have a number of female teachers to educate girls separately. Not too much. However, they (Taliban) allowed girls and women to go to school is also a big deal.
